Final week - we're over 80% funded and game mat design 4
almost 5 years ago – Sat, Jun 29, 2019 at 01:02:27 AM

6 days and 16% to go

Good morning.

As I write this, the campaign has 92 backers and is at 84% of it's funding goal - well within shouting distance of the end. I am confident we will get to the last 16% by Thursday, especially as we are demoing at two events this weekend.

Today, we are at the Glasgow Games Gathering show

Tomorrow morning we will be attending the Phoenix Lakeland Wargames Expo in Penrith.

These events are going to be a lot of fun, and we are really keen to catch up with any backers that come along to them.

Final game mat design

It has been a long time coming, but here is the final game mat design. It is a more simplistic affair and is designed to be used horizontally, but can be used vertically if desired. Let us know what you think in the comments.

It is supposed to be scorchingly hot in the UK this weekend and we all know what that means - playing board games outside and hoping the wind doesn't blow the cards and tokens away!

I hope you all have a great weekend and your cards stay on the table.

Exciting news - Expected Delivery update and Game Mat Design #3
almost 5 years ago – Fri, Jun 21, 2019 at 11:04:54 PM

Good evening folks

Sorry for the delay - this was supposed to go out earlier in the week, but there has been issues with drains at home (thankfully all sorted now).

Now onto the interesting stuff!

Expected Delivery times

Looking at how our numbers are doing, we will be going for a small print run for this campaign using a local company. The estimated time for completed production would now be in October, and because the company is within 30 minutes drive of my home the result is our expected delivery is now November with a possibility of October.

This is fantastic news for anyone looking for potential Christmas gifts. Our delivery times will be well in advance of the Christmas rush as well, so no last minute nerves over whether your games will arrive in time (even for international deliveries).

If you are thinking of getting an extra copy for someone for Christmas, you can increase your pledge by the game cost for your pledge level and then allocate the funds to extra games in the pledge manager.

Game Mat Design 3

Here is the last of our vertical game mat designs, this time featuring Ezekial, the Cowboy and Gene, the Kid. We have two different tag-lines for Gene, so let us know whether you think the line for option A or for option B suits her best.

Escapades in Podcasts

Over the last week or so, we have been on a couple of Podcasts. Tom (L) joined in the  chat for Episode 1 of the Sheffield Board Games Club podcast, which you can find below. We talked about games we have played, some other games currently on Kickstarter, and of course, Six Gun Showdown.

Tom also had a chat with Lake Leafty on Getting Geeky with Gamer Leaf, giving the lowdown on the Showdown. This can be found here.

Stretch Goals

It may sound silly to mentions stretch goals, but as we are 86% towards one of the achievements to unlock the first stretch goal. All you need to do is follow Redwell Games on Facebook or Twitter or Instagram (or all three). These are cumulative and will unlock the new box artwork stretch goal.

And Finally....Events

This coming Sunday (23rd June), we are at Fanboy 3 in Manchester to demo Six Gun Showdown from 12.30 . At 2pm there will be a free to enter tournament where you can win some Six Gun Showdown goodies. If you are in the area, why not pop along and join in the games.

We will also be at Glasgow Games Gathering on 29th June where we will be demoing our games. You can find more about this event here.

We hope you all have a great weekend.

All the best

New previews, game mat design #2 and updated delivery charges
almost 5 years ago – Mon, Jun 17, 2019 at 12:57:54 AM

Hello everyone

Lots to talk about in this update, so lets get on with it!

New previews

Several new unpaid preview videos and articles have been released in the last week, and I have included some of them below.

Nick from Board Deck and Dice

And Oliver from Tabletop Games blog has written a preview here and made a video!

Game Mat Designs

As promised in update #2 here is the Game Mat #3 design, featuring either sides of The Law - Desperado Daisy and Sheriff Jones. The overall mat design has been updated based on comments on Update #2, with a side of the mat option to record scores as well as a bottom of the mat option. This side of the mat score keeping option will be added to design #1

To add clarity on the dice trays, below is the standard dice design. Sorry for not including this in update #1.

Delivery Charges

I have updated the delivery charges on the main campaign as the prices have changed based on discussions with new fulfillment partners and with some of international backers. In short, UK orders will have tracked delivery as standard same as before, albeit the expected price has reduced a little.

I have also been able to find reductions in international delivery. In order to provide a cheaper option for international delivery, the standard delivery charge will NOT be tracked delivery. This can be upgraded to tracked and signed delivery for £5 and I will guarantee to send out replacement copies if postage errors occur when this option is chosen.

I hope you all had a good weekend. Next update will be in the week and will feature Game Mat Design #3 and my recent escapades in Podcast land.

First new game mat design and we're over the 50% mark
almost 5 years ago – Fri, Jun 14, 2019 at 12:42:11 AM

Hello everyone

It's been a busy week and we have received a number of new backers since the last update and we are now over the 50%  funded mark with 3 weeks of the campaign left to go. You can help us out by spreading the word about this Kickstarter campaign. All we need is about 3 basic backers per day, and we will hit our target, and everything helps.

We will be busy too, as we have other events lined up to demo Six Gun Showdown and Tom has been talking on some podcasts too. We will keep you notified in future updates for when these are.

Game Mat

We also have the first new design for the game mats, featuring two characters from the game. Along the short edge of each mat are the numbers 0-4. These are to help you to keep track of the points you have scored. The principle is that at the end of round 1 and round 2 you can place your discarded cards by the number corresponding to your current score.

It would be great to know what you all think of this design. Up-coming designs will feature The Cowboy vs The Kid and Sheriff Jones vs Desperado Daisy and will be showcased in future updates.

Dice Tray

From all the comments about the Dice Tray designs in Update #1, Em's preferred design was clearly the favourite. We will therefore be using the "no icons" design for our Kickstarter Exclusive dice tray design.

Great start and Dice Trays
almost 5 years ago – Sun, Jun 09, 2019 at 01:14:05 PM

Thank you to everyone who has backed so far and got us over the 40% mark.

We are keeping up with demoing Six Gun Showdown to new people.

Today we are demoing at FanBoy 3 in Manchester

On 12th June we will be attending the regular playtesting session at the Treehouse cafe in Sheffield

We should have the rules translated into French by the end of the campaign. The wonderful Eric from Juniper Green Board gamers has volunteered to help us, which we are immensely grateful for.

Finally, we need your help in deciding which Dice tray design to choose for the Kickstarter Exclusive Dice Tray.

Tom likes design A with 6 icons

Design A - with icons
Design A - with icons

Whereas Emily prefers design B without the icons

Design B - No Icons
Design B - No Icons

Please let us know your preference in the comments below. The most preferred option we will use for the Kickstarter exclusive dice tray.

For reference, the standard design dice tray, which will also be available to buy from us outside of Kickstarter, is also an available alternative for backers.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.
